Cori Thibodeau has been the Regional Director of the Catholic Social Action Office for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. Since beginning this position in 2001 she has also served as the Catholic Relief Services Diocesan Director.

As Regional Director Cori worked closely with the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) and has established relationships between CCHD-funded groups and parishes, helping to raise the level of community involvement among parishes.  Cori provided leadership to the Catholic community of Greater Dayton by fostering the development of a Catholic social justice collaborative that brings together Catholic parishes and organizations in the City of Dayton around a common justice issue. Currently the collaborative is working in conjunction with the City of Dayton’s 10-year plan to end chronic homelessness and reduce overall homelessness.

Cori contributed to the establishment of numerous social justice efforts in local parishes by organizing and facilitating faith formation programs such as JustFaith, Communities of Salt and Light, and has provided educational sessions on Faithful Citizenship, immigration, legislative advocacy, and numerous other social and theological issues. These formation courses equip parish leaders to organize and carryout the social teaching of the church.

As Catholic Relief Services Director Cori worked extensively with CRS’ U.S. based programs including Operation Rice Bowl, Food Fast, and Fair Trade. She served on the team that developed the country’s largest one-day Work of Human Hands Fair Trade sale that occurs annually in the Archdiocese. Cori is also responsible for The Catholic Relief Services Collection and the allocation of Operation Rice Bowl funds. Additionally, Cori traveled to Angola, Africa on a legislative delegation to examine the impact of extractive industries and the role of the Church in calling for a more just use of natural resources.

She is passionate about empowering parishes and the community at large to create a more just society by bringing the resources and vision of the Catholic social tradition to the serious issues of injustice we face in our community and throughout the world.
