To the Editor:

In a recent story the MyTown Newspaper covered [local story that touches any of these subjects].  It illustrates the development challenges and choices we face as a [city/town]. Traffic, tax increases, school budgets and the air we breath and the water we drink touch every family in MyTown.  These are some of the items covered in a recent report, Connecticut Metropatterns:  A Regional Agenda for Community and Prosperity in Connecticut.  All communities are hurt by the way our state is growing, and all would benefit from regional and statewide reforms.  The report describes the specific challenges faced by MyTown as a result of Connecticut's pattern of development.  We can have a good quality of life, protect our environment, have economic development and prevent wasteful tax expenditures.  A local committee is sponsoring a free community education forum on [day, date, time, place] and we would like to encourage as many people as possible to attend.  This event is one of many across the state this fall sponsored by the CenterEdge Coalition, made up of business, civic, higher education, religious, civil rights and environmental organizations to promote public discussion of the challenges and choices we face.  For more information call ….
