As President of CPEC, Michael P. Meotti  has integrated technology into the Council's activities.  Connecticut magazine named www.cpec.org to its “Top 50 Web Sites in Connecticut” and Mass High Tech recognized it as a “Pick of the Week.”  CPEC’s City Scan project has won a "MOBY", a national award for mobile computing technology, and national web-based media coverage for its innovative use of technology to improve community quality of life.

Mr. Meotti chairs the Connecticut Economic Conference Board.  The Board advises the Governor and General Assembly on the direction of the state’s economy.  He also chairs the Education Committee of the MetroHartford Chamber of Commerce and serves on the Governor's Council on Technology and Economic Competitiveness.

Mr. Meotti served in federal, state and local government. He was elected to four terms in the Connecticut State Senate, where he served as Assistant Majority Leader, chair of the Transportation and Environment committees, and as a member of the Appropriations Committee. Before his election to the Senate, he was active in local government in Glastonbury, Connecticut where he served on the Board of Education for four years and the Town Council for three years.

In the private sector, Mr. Meotti has been the General Counsel of the Insurance Association of Connecticut and Counsel in the Law Department of The Travelers Insurance Companies.

Mr. Meotti is a graduate of Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service and the Georgetown University Law Center. He resides in West Hartford, Conn., with his wife and two daughters.
