Background. Briefly describe your professional and/or volunteer
experience as it relates to
your involvement with CenterEdge. (Use back of sheet if necessary.)
I
have a PhD in Geography and have been a Professor at the University of
Connecticut since 1994. I have also served as Director of Urban Studies at UConn.
My research and teaching interests center on urban poverty, economic
development, and residential segregation. This past year I have begun to examine
issues related to suburbanization and sprawl in both my research and classes. In
fact, I have 3 graduate students currently conducting research on Sprawl for
their MA Theses. I have experience working on local and state boards and
commission and have conducted contracted research with federal, state, and local
governments.
